Chablis Premier Cru

Power, density and the pure expression of the Kimmeridgian terroir.

Chablis Wine

The Bold
Premier Cru

On the sloping hillside of Chablis, the Vaillon parcel of Domaine Daniel-Étienne Defaix stands out as a structured Premier Cru with a distinctive personality and an audacious style. Thanks to its iron-rich soils, well-oriented exposure and the estate’s meticulous winemaking philosophy, this wine reveals a rare complexity combining density, freshness and minerality.

A “Powerful” Cru

The soil is of Kimmeridgian origin (clay-limestone marl), as is the case for most of the estate’s crus — a hallmark of Chablis.

Vaillon benefits from a 28° slope and an iron-enriched soil, which lends the wine a more spicy aromatic profile and a dense structure.

Its strict south-east exposure ensures precise and gradual ripening, preserving a vibrant, intact freshness.
